V-ROD Fiberglass Rebar | Water Treatment & Marine Applications

GAMKA is pleased to provide V-ROD Fiberglass Rebar to our customers. It is a great solution for many reinforced concrete purposes, including water treatment, marine applications, and a wide variety of other industrial applications.

From marine projects such as seawalls, breakwaters, and wharves to water treatment solutions such as wastewater and drinking water, V-ROD Fiberglass Rebar is the recommended product.

FRP Rebar is an excellent alternative to stainless steel rebar

V-Rod Fiberglass Rebar For Breakwaters, Wharves, and Seawalls

The degradation of reinforced concrete structures in marine environments caused by the migration of chloride ions and the subsequent corrosion of reinforcing steel is a prevalent and severe problem worldwide.

Although traditional solutions such as cathodic protection, increased concrete cover thickness, and corrosion inhibitors have been employed to prevent steel corrosion, these remedies are often costly to maintain and implement, and their effectiveness is still in doubt.

Enter GAMKA’s V-ROD composite concrete rebar. The V-ROD composite concrete rebar from GAMKA is the ultimate solution to these issues. This rebar is completely non-reactive to chloride ions, compatible with other materials (preventing galvanic corrosion), and requires no additives or additional concrete cover. It is undoubtedly the best option for preventing steel corrosion.

Furthermore, the V-ROD rebar boasts two to three times the tensile strength of traditional reinforcement steel. This increased strength can, in some cases, reduce the amount of reinforcement needed while also providing superior crack control.

What this all means is that GAMKA’s V-ROD Composite Rebar will save you both money and time on your project.

V-Rod Fiberglass Rebar In Drinking Water and Wastewater Projects

Various industries, including drinking water and wastewater treatment plants, often face challenges with the deterioration of their reinforced concrete infrastructures over time, caused by the harsh operating conditions they endure.

The use of halogens, such as chlorine, fluorine, or iodine, for disinfecting drinking water, as well as ozonation, can have a destructive impact on steel products, even if they are black, galvanized, epoxy-coated, or stainless steel. To ensure the quality of water distributed to communities, disinfection is necessary, but it poses a threat to reinforced concrete basins. Although increasing the thickness of the concrete cover and using expensive membranes are commonly preferred solutions, there is an alternative.

Gamka’s V•ROD composite concrete rebar is entirely inert and insensitive to these chemical or gaseous compounds. The use of this technology can reduce the amount of concrete needed for constructing a drinking water treatment plant and eliminate the need for tank membrane protection, reducing overall costs.

Wastewater treatment plants face different corrosion challenges, mainly from hydrogen sulfide (H2S) produced by bacterial silt. H2S can corrode both submerged and atmospheric structures in the surrounding environment.

So if you want to save both money and time on your marine projects and water treatment plan projects, look for GAMKA’s V-ROD composite rebar.
